WELL...Hello everyone. just thought I would take a trip to blogsville. Carmen and I took Mischa to the Wichita Mountains on Labor Day. Jeremy and Kyle were in Porter with Meemaw Cain. The buffalo where everywhere and so were the prairie dogs. Mishca was going crazy trying to get to them. Mount Scott was beautiful and the weather was balmy. Made for a great picnic. We even found the place where the young married folks went and had a picnic about 20 years ago. So, Carmen and I ate our Turkey sandwich and fruit there. Hope you like the pics. This morning we heard something wimpering out side. Carmen found the cutest little butterscotch colored female lab. I went around the neighborhood but no one seems to know who it belongs to. It is very clean and smells like it had just had and bath. I think it was put in our yard by someone that did not want it. Our neighbor down the street may take it if the owner cannot be found. Mischa though we had gotten her a new toy....

Having worked all day as so many of us do year in and year out, I was reminded of why....Taxes!! Just kidding. I am always glad as grim as it may sound for this time of year because it means that I am able to work and want to work. My father, who was helping me at his home right after the Katrina disaster, put it into perspective once more. I was using a chainsaw to cut up the trees that had fallen around their home. There was dad in his eighty's and with all the complications from Parkinsons to stroke and congestive heart failure picking up the logs and limbs and putting them in a brush pile to be burned. As we stopped to get a drink that mom had brought to us, my father said "I enjoy hard work, it makes me feel good and gives me a sense of purpose every day that God has granted to me." Dad worked one job all of his life. dedicated to it's purpose. To provide for his family, friends, even strangers and his God. He is gone now and I miss him ever so, and he would not come back for anything. What caught my simple thinking was just part of that phrase "Sense of purpose ...That God has granted". When God gave us this wonderful gift of the Holy Ghost, Our sense of purpose Should have changed. Who are we to try to change it back. Every service should be solely purposed to equip us for hard work in the kingdom of God, through Praise and worship, giving and Ministering to those in the sanctuary walls and even more inportantly those outside our walls. O. K., It's like going to the gym and just sitting around talking and not getting into the workout and expecting results of physical change and strenght. I look forward at every service, to exercise my right to give it all I have. Creating a sense of purpose that will equip me for the more excellent rewards and challenges on this earth...Seeing souls continually added to the church daily. It ain't money...we will have it and spend it and want more...same for cars and clothing and .... It's still about what God has divined in us to do when he granted us pardon. Let's all come together every service and give it all we have and Watch God grant our petitions. My God is still a rewarder of those that (still)dilligently seek him.

INVITE!!! INVITE!!! INVITE!!! Word of mouth is still the best avertising tool in the world. Do no expect people to read our minds....open yer mouths and invite. Basic and fundamental elements, be friendly, set an example of Godliness, be consistent, oh, and be friendly again....smile always. INVITE!!!! When your guest comes to church, Intorduce them to everyone from young to elderly. Pay close attention to how kind the elderly treats them...and learn to adapt to it. Today was a pretty slow day at work. The band UIL concert and sight reading contests kept most of the staff out of the store. So after work Carmen and I went to Waurika to Bills Catfish and snagged some large fried shrimp. It is always worth the drive and we are always stuffed. Learned a very unique thing about humming birds that I might share with you, If Sis Elms has a notion to let me share it with you. Anyway, we are finishing up on our income tax (yuck). Anyone willing to donate to the Cain Income Tax Relief fund?

Mischa is losing her winter coat by the handfuls. I told Carmen that I was going outside to pluck the dog. Mischa loves when I pull the globs of hair off of her. Our back yard looks like a cottonwood tree exploded in it. For those that don't know, Mischa is our almost 2year old absolute white Siberian Huskie.

Just a great picture for the Pentecostal GQ magazine....Easter 2004 Isn't God Great??!!!!!!

GOOD MORNING FOLKS. Just heading off to work and had a few minutes to blog. Had my doctor follow up for my knee yesterday. It was so cool. He showed me the pictures that he took while in my knee. You could see the knee cap and the acl and the minicus ( which is where the tear was). He showed me the tear and how he shaved it back and used a burning tool to smooth out the frayed edges on the minucus. He said the knee was in perfect working condition and in about 1 month I could go back to doing what ever. You won't even be able to tell where he made the incisions. Wish I could post the pictures for those who like that sort of thing. Anyway, for a guy like me who refuses to become inactive in the things I like to do, this was great news. Might have to lighten up abit on the squats, but thats ok. Not being able to work out in the mornings, makes me very tired during the day. Enjoy this beautiful spring day, learn one thing new and invite someone new to church. love ya'll

Well, since we have not been bloggin much, I thought I would post some of the pictures from a few things. Here are some from Jeremy's 24th birthday party at the Japaleno Tree.

We got the biggest kick out of Amy's renditions of a Gansta Rap Artist just filled with the Big H. G. , and trying to testify.

Then Jessica, Amy and Felicia started huffing the helium from the balloons.

Good thing I work in a music store, I pretty much know what Jeremy wants for his bithday. This year he wanted a set of Sabian Paragon Neil Peart Signature Series Cymbals. Wow 24 and growing. When I walk down the hall of our home and see all the pictures, it once again reminds me of the shortness of our lives and how fast time flies. Take a lot of pictures and tell your kids you love them everyday, no matter how old they are. With Jeremy, when I say "I love you Jeremy" , he always say's "You Too Daddy". With Kyle it's "mumble mumble too dad". This is what I as a dad Love to here from my boys.

Hey everyone, thought I would let ya'll see some of the pictures from my knee surgery. Just kidding. However here are some picutres of the recovery on lake St. Augustine in Broaddus Tx. where my sister and Brother in law pastor. (Diane and Mark Green). We fished for two days and the weather was just incredible. Many bass and crappie were caught and then released back into Mark and Diane's pond at their house.

Even Carmen caught her share. Mark is a professional fishing guide so fishing with him is always a blast.

The highlight of the day was the Male Bald Eagle that kept flying over us at sunset. Man he was huge. At least an 7 ftwing span. Just riding the air currents (and the air was perfectly still as you can see by the water. Yet this Eagle just found the wind currents and glided all over the place without flapping it's wings....

Coming soon...Paintballing at the Cains, Kyle preaching the house down, more pictures from church in a day

Hey all of you bloggers. thought i would drop a line since I lasted posted on Feb 12th. There is not a whole lot going on except going to work and coming home. Carmen and I did enjoy the Church in a Day project. It is so cool to see 400 people come together and build a church in 16 to 18 hours completely stocked with hot and cold running towels. Thanks to Bro Todd for helping me get the sound system in, since I have this bum knee. I am in Broaddus Tx. at my bro. in laws house recovering from knee surgery for a few days. This will allow Sis Carmen to get to go to Ladies Conference while I recoup. Surgery went very well and the pain in the knee is so much better than before surgery and will totally dissappear in a few days. So I will just sit around and eat Bon-Bons and junk food and try to fish a little. gotta go ...time for another Hydrocodon yiiippeee

Hey everyone, well I better keep the blog police off my trail, so lets see whats been happening around here. Today is Jeremy's 24th birthday. Carmen fixed his favorie meal for Sunday... Chicken Enchiladas and a big German chocolate cake. Rebecca's parents (Mr. and Mrs. Warren) came over for dinner and so did Grandma and Grandpa Gilbert. Then we watched the new Yanni Live Concert Event (Thanks Johnathan) wow what a concert. The Cains sang, again, at church last night. People began to bring money to the platform (well for Save the Children) not us. Today I installed new choir mics at the West Foundation Elementary. Took Jeremy to Hunans for his birthday lunch. Tomorrow I will be very busy installing a new sound system for the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church here in town. Wednesday I will be doing a top secret sound study at Shepperd AFB in the new F22 Raptor Fighter Jet Training Facilities. Thats all I can say, Mums the word, nope , won't hear it from me. If I really wanted you to know, I would Telephone, Telegraph, or tell a woman.
Tonight before prayer meeting, I got so tickled at Alayna, she came up and hugged me. I said "Alayna you sure smell good". She replied " I know, I just took a bath".
So anyway this week I will be swamped, which is a good thing. It keeps a little jingle in the pockets for awhile.. love ya'll
OOhh by the way...Happy Aniversary Bro Gene and Sis Karla...18 years already.

Howdy, Everyone. Not much happening today that you might want to hear about. We did get a call from Kyle tonight. He was in Arkansas preaching a rally with his team from TBC. He preached the main service. He said that two people received the Holy Ghost or the "Big H G" as he puts it. Could not hear everything he was saying since he was in a crowd at the church he was at. The Holy Ghost, that is what it is all about. Without the Big HG, well nothing else even comes close to mattering in this life.

People always ask us what Kyle wants to do when he gets out of Bible College. We always say, "The same thing that he is doing in Bible College...Ministering to people and being used by the Holy Ghost to fulfill and carry out the will of God in his life. If you have the time, give him a call and let him know that you are praying for him. He loves his church family.

Oh, I forgot to tag someone the other day with the five things bit. I don't know who has or has not been tagged. So I will tag Christopher Prince and Rebecca. Five things that we do not know about you.

Well, Carmen and I went to a chocolate tasting party last night. This is a multi level thing with XOCAI Corp. (Pronounced Sho- Sigh). This is concerning all the benefits of pure chocolate to the human body as the best anti-oxidents. Very interesting especially in the weight control and dibetes area's. Anyone heard of this. I do know that all the womans day magazines and fitness mags have promoted dark pure chocolates to lose weight and cleanse the bodybetter than anything. Any input?

Oh! It tasted great too.

Well today was pretty slow at work. Took Carmen to work since my car was iced over. This evening one of the toys outside was in the pool, which is icing over. I told Carmen I had to get it out before the pool froze. So she watched me from inside the house in case I were to slip and fall into the pool. I got the toy out and was walking around the pool and waving to her that I had gotten it out when I slipped on the icy pool deck and threw the toy back into the pool that I had just spent 15 minutes in the freezing cold trying to get out. Was very James!

Hello everyone. I hope your today was safe and peaceful. We sat home and played a few games. Carmen has a nice fire in the fireplace and the hot chocolate sure hits the spot. Mischa has been so funny and hyper today. Huskies like a lot of attention and she sure gets more than her share. Her head is resting on my leg while I am at this computer. A good pet is such a joy to have. We love our dog and she sure has grown since we first got her at camp a year and a half ago. Carmen thinks that I should put some pictures on this blog of Mischa at Christmas. So Here you go.

Carmen thought it funny to put my 3D deer target behind the Christmas tree. This is about as close as I will get to hunt a deer this year. I did get to shoot this one before she put it behind the tree. If you use some Tony C's, and cook it in a cast iron skillet, I promise you that it will be the best tasting piece of foam deer you can get.

Well, we will be putting our house up for sell shortly. If you want to make me an offer before the realtor gets here, call me. lots of property custom built with a pool and spa and shop.

Wow I thought you guys knew evrthing about me. Lets find out
1) I am not a Cowboys fan...I know that is blaspheme to at least one person who reads these blogs (from Pflugerville) Ya'll guess who she is (Karla)I not going to tell you. I am a Greenbay fan. I always liked Vince Lombardy..
2) I have a cassette tape that I taped off of t.v. of Hank Aaron hitting the 715th homerun.
3) In high school, I had a 93 average in english and was just bored with high school. I asked my teacher how much the term paper counted towards the final english grade. She said 20%. I never did the term paper and was so proud with a "C"
4) O. K. don't any of you school kids try this one..When I was a senior in high school, I only had two classes, and Skateboarding was at its peak. The first class was government and the second class was DE (this was when you went to work after the class and this counted as your grade. Soooo since I only had two classes before going to work, I just slept in at the house until it was time for me to get to work. To the tune of 53 skipped days of school that year. Yes, you can be an under-achiever tooo.
5) When I was nine years old, the bass player did not show up for sunday service. So I don't know why but I picked up his big ole bass and played 1.4.5. bass. Then right before the reading of the word, my dad stood up and said " Tat is my son Playing the bass guitar. He's never played one before. God just gave him the talent."bro davidwas the church bass player and he was so patient to show me the lastest 1970's gospel licks and let me play his Gibson es335 style bass guitar. I never had a bass until after Carmen and I were married.
So there you have it. Five things that you may not know about me. I will have to tag someone Let me think.
Hey everyone. Been really busy at work doing Yuuuuccccccccccckkkky inventory. By the time I get home I don't even want to see a computer screen. Well,,,, Lets see whats happening at the Cain Casa. Jeremy ordered his new bass from Mike Pedulla. It will be here in June 07. I think that I am more excited about it than he is. I have had soo much fun talking with Christine at Pedulla about Jeremy and his awesome bass playing. Just need him to make a great Christian CD for bass players. I really would like to do a bass trio or even Quartet with Jeremy, Cameron, Johnathan, and myself. Since I think that we all have influenced one another. Never have heard of anyone doing it even in the secular world. Kyle came and went. Hardly saw him over the hollidays. I did show him that the registration on his car was in his name when I bought the tags for him......and a new windshield... and a new tire... and food and clothes... and ..and... and...hope Carmen and I get to see him a little longer when he come home in February.

o.k now everyone one ... Lets all stop eating out save our money and go skiing next year.

RockYou Widget
